Conflict Bars Porcari From Airlines' ATI Review

Law360, New York (September 23, 2009, 5:46 PM EDT) -- U.S. Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary John Porcari will join his boss on the sidelines while the agency examines a pending antitrust immunity application headlined by American Airlines Inc. and British Airways PLC.

The DOT confirmed Wednesday that Porcari would be sitting this ruling out because he supported the application last year as the Secretary of Transportation for the state of Maryland. Federal DOT Secretary Ray LaHood was recused from the case earlier this year, also because of a conflict of interest.
