Abbott Pays $27M To End C&D Pregnancy Test Feud

Law360, New York (September 24, 2009, 7:56 PM EDT) -- Pummeled with a $38 million verdict for infringing Church & Dwight Co. Inc.’s patents covering pregnancy test kits, Abbott Laboratories has agreed to pay $27 million in a settlement that ends the verdict appeal as well as an infringement countersuit.

C&D, whose products include Arm & Hammer, Trojan condoms and First Response pregnancy tests, announced the settlement Thursday in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
