Unilever Buys Sara Lee Brands For €1.3B

Law360, New York (September 25, 2009, 12:26 PM EDT) -- Unilever PLC announced Friday that it is acquiring Sara Lee Corp.'s personal body care business for nearly €1.3 billion ($1.9 billion) in a move it said would strengthen the company's Western European business.

The proposed transaction, which would close in calendar year 2010, is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory clearances, the companies said. The personal body care businesses had sales of €750 million ($1 billion) in fiscal year 2009.

The deal includes the Sanex, Radox and Duschdas brands.
