ITC Review Affirms Presstek Patent Violations

Law360, New York (September 28, 2009, 4:14 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has upheld an administrative law judge's determination that certain imported printing plates infringe patents held by Presstek Inc., following a review of the initial findings at the behest of respondent VIM Technologies Ltd.

The ITC issued a notice Sept. 24 affirming Administrative Law Judge E. James Gildea's initial findings on Presstek's complaint, determining that VIM and several other distributors had violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing laser imageable lithographic printing plates that violated two Presstek patents....
