HP, Lenovo Unplugged From Modem Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 1, 2009, 12:35 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed Hewlett Packard Co. and Lenovo Inc. from an inventor's suit accusing a host of computer manufacturers of infringing a patent related to voice and data transmission signals through modems installed in both notebook and desktop PCs.

Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas signed off on the two separate stipulation orders Wednesday, dismissing all relevant claims and counterclaims between the parties and ruling that each would bear its own costs.
