Lucent's Bid For $44M In Adelphia Dispute Heats Up

Law360, New York (October 30, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Adelphia Communications Corp. has filed a memorandum claiming that a plot by Lucent Technologies Inc. to squeeze $44 million out of Adelphia is disingenuous, and that documents Lucent improperly withheld under attorney-client privilege would prove that.

In a memorandum of law filed Oct. 27 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Adelphia accused Lucent of improperly withholding e-mails and other documents in order to hide clues about its true motives in seeking payment from Adelphia.
