Esso Faces New Suit Over Gas Leaks In Puerto Rico

Law360, New York (October 7, 2009, 2:13 PM EDT) -- Another property owner in Puerto Rico has sued Esso Standard Oil Co., now owned by ExxonMobil Corp., for allegedly allowing gasoline to leak from underground storage tanks at a service station and contaminate soil and groundwater.

Manuel A. Colon Cabrera filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, claiming that Esso knew the storage tanks were leaking at a service station in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, since at least the early 1980s.
