CalPers Seeks To Block McGuire Retirement Package

Law360, New York (October 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The country’s largest pension fund has asked a court to freeze the assets of the former CEO of UnitedHealth Group Inc. who was ousted in the wake of an options backdating scandal at the health care provider.

The California Employees Public Retirement System has asked a federal court to restrict the finances of William McGuire, who must step down from his position at UnitedHealth by Dec. 1.
