Unions Prepare To Spar With Verizon Over Layoffs

Law360, New York (October 12, 2009, 6:44 PM EDT) -- New England telecommunications unions are considering launching an arbitration proceeding against Verizon Communications Inc. on the contention that the company has violated labor contract provisions by failing to cut contract employees first in a recent wave of layoffs affecting about 200 landline workers.
