Mattel Settles Lead-Tainted Toys Suit

Law360, New York (October 14, 2009, 5:03 PM EDT) -- Mattel Inc. and its subsidiary Fisher-Price Inc. have reached a product liability class action settlement with plaintiffs involving the largest recall of children's toys in history.

Mattel and Whatley Drake & Kallas LLC, the co-lead counsel for families who purchased Mattel and Fisher-Price toys, announced Tuesday the settlement of 22 separate class actions over millions of toys that were made in China and found to contain excessive levels of lead.
