Wal-Mart Agrees To $11M Settlement In Wage Action

Law360, New York (October 14, 2009, 2:44 PM EDT) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and hourly employees in its Iowa stores have agreed to an $11 million settlement, ending eight years of litigation in one of many wage violation suits brought against the retailer in recent years.

An Iowa District Court for Clinton County judge signed off on the settlement pact Tuesday. The case is one of 63 wage-and-hour class actions in at least 14 states that Wal-Mart agreed to settle in December for up to $640 million.
