Syngenta Sues Five Rivals Over Patent For Corn Insect Protection

Law360, New York (April 14, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- Swiss agricultural biotech company Syngenta has filed another lawsuit in Delaware District court against five rivals, expanding a lawsuit filed in the same court in July 2002 over patents for corn insect protection.

The company filed the lawsuit against Monsanto, DeKalb Genetics, Pioneer Hi-Bred, Dow AgroSciences and Mycogen Seeds after winning approval from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for another transgenic patent for insect resistant corn.
