Senators Fear Climate Bill Will Shoot Up Energy Costs

Law360, New York (October 21, 2009, 7:59 PM ET) -- Senators expressed concerns Wednesday that proposed climate change legislation would greatly increase energy costs for consumers and force businesses to compete for pollution "earmarks," in a hearing on how to divvy up pollution allowances.

In its current form, 70 percent of The Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act — proposed by Sens.
