NY Judge Halts Mandatory Swine Flu Shots

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 6:46 PM EDT) -- A New York judge has temporarily blocked a directive requiring all health care workers in the state to receive a vaccination for the seasonal flu and H1N1, or swine flu, viruses.

Justice Thomas J. McNamara, an acting justice of the New York State Supreme Court, issued the temporary restraining order Friday morning after three lawsuits were filed in the court aimed at stopping enforcement of the directive. Oral arguments in the case are scheduled for Oct. 30.
