Prosecutors Renew Bail Bid For Ex-Madoff CFO

Law360, New York (October 19, 2009, 4:14 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors are asking a federal judge to overturn an earlier decision denying bail to the former chief financial officer of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, arguing that the government witness is not a flight risk and home detention is the appropriate course of action.

On Friday, prosecutors proposed a “strengthened bail package” for Frank DiPascali Jr. in hopes that Judge Richard Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York will be swayed to turn him loose while he awaits sentencing....
