RBS Reaches Deal In TQP Encryption Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 20, 2009, 12:39 PM ET) -- The Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC and two of its subsidiaries have become the latest defendants to reach a settlement with TQP Development LLC in one of its ongoing and wide-ranging patent infringement suits over technology governing online encrypted data transmissions.

TQP Development, Royal Bank of Scotland, Citizens Financial Group Inc. and RBS Citizens NA filed a motion Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, seeking to dismiss all claims and counterclaims in the action with prejudice.
