Jury Awards $2.25M In Fisher Asbestos Valves Suit

Law360, New York (October 21, 2009, 6:40 PM EDT) -- The sons of a Niagara Falls, N.Y., factory worker who died from mesothelioma have won $2.25 million in their asbestos lawsuit against his former employer and Fisher Controls International LLC, the company that supplied the control valves he repaired.

The jury decisions, handed down Monday and Tuesday in the New York State Supreme Court, County of Erie, awarded the estate of Ronald Drabczyk a $1.5 million verdict and punitive damages of $750,000, according to Jordan Fox, plaintiffs' attorney from the firm Belluck & Fox LLP....
