ITC Seeks Input On Generalized System Of Preferences

Law360, New York (October 21, 2009, 7:26 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission is seeking input for an investigation concerning possible modifications to the Generalized System of Preferences, it has announced.

The investigation was requested by the U.S. trade representative, the ITC said in a statement Wednesday.

The ITC will provide advice regarding the likely impact on competing U.S. industries by the addition of five Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheadings to the list of articles eligible for the GSP, as well as the removal of two HTS subheadings from duty-free status from certain beneficiary developing...
