U.S. To Put Israel On IP Priority Watch List, Newspaper Claims

Law360, New York (April 15, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The United States is planning to put Israel on its priority watch list of countries that violate intellectual property rights, an Israeli business paper is reporting.

Israel will be included in the final report by the United States Trade Representative, to be published on May 1, Globes business daily reported.

Israel’s inclusion on the list will have negative practical effects on the country’s chances of attracting foreign investment, particularly from international pharmaceutical companies, for conducting innovative clinical trials for drugs, according to the newspaper.
