US, India Vow To Enhance Trade At Policy Forum

Law360, New York (October 27, 2009, 1:18 PM EDT) -- U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk has expressed a desire to make India one of the top 10 U.S. trading partners, saying that he expects to formalize a framework for trade and investment between the countries “in the very near future.”

The two nations have an “extraordinary” opportunity to build on what “should be one of the most productive geopolitical relationships in the world,” Kirk told reporters at the sixth U.S.-India Trade Policy Forum in New Delhi on Monday.
