Dassault To Buy PLM Support Assets From IBM

Law360, New York (October 27, 2009, 2:53 PM EDT) -- French software company Dassault Systemes has agreed to buy IBM Corp.'s sales and client support operations that currently provide support for Dassault's product life cycle management software portfolio under a partnership between the two companies for $600 million in cash.

In addition to the IBM sales and client support operations, Dassault will acquire IBM's PLM customer contracts and related assets, the companies said Tuesday. The deal will move about 700 IBM employees and 1,000 customer contracts to Dassault, according to Dassault spokesman Derek Lane.
