Sony, AmTran Resolve Spat Over TV Patents

Law360, New York (October 29, 2009, 2:13 PM EDT) -- Sony Corp. and AmTran Technology Co. Ltd. have reached a confidential settlement in a dispute over three AmTran patents related to television and PC monitor technology.

Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday approved the parties' joint stipulation to dismiss Sony's declaratory judgment claims of invalidity of three AmTran patents without prejudice and to drop their remaining claims and counterclaims with prejudice.
