EU, US Launch Council To Tackle Energy Problems
Law360, New York (November 04, 2009, 2:14 PM ET) -- The U.S. and European Union have launched a new energy council comprised of top government officials that is slated to meet regularly on strategic energy issues, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The council, which will report to the EU-U.S. summit, will meet annually. The council aims to improve bilateral cooperation on energy issues and address global energy security, sustainability and climate change, the EU said in a statement.
