Mich. Firm Wins Partial Dismissal In $36M Fee Fight

Law360, New York (November 06, 2009, 4:09 PM ET) -- A federal judge has dismissed large swaths of a sealed lawsuit brought by beneficiaries of the Michigan-based Iron Workers Local 25 Pension Fund that seeks, among other things, to dissolve a fee agreement between the fund and law firm Sullivan Ward Asher & Patton PC worth $36 million.

Judge Stephen J. Murphy III's order, issued Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, ruled that plaintiffs George Henry Young, Harvey Weglarz and William Chakur had no standing to challenge the fee contract...
