Tavern On The Green IP Row Merits New Venue: NYC

Law360, New York (November 06, 2009, 4:37 PM ET) -- Battling for ownership of Tavern on the Green’s name, New York is trying to move the trademark brawl out of bankruptcy court, where the operators of the iconic Central Park eatery are in Chapter 11 protection.

New York filed a motion Friday urging Judge Allan L. Gropper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to transfer two competing adversary cases over the restaurant’s valuable moniker to district court, arguing that it is better suited to hear the nonbankruptcy-related dispute.
