States Press EPA For Tougher Federal Air Rules

Law360, New York (November 06, 2009, 4:50 PM ET) -- A coalition of 12 states and the District of Columbia has asked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to establish stricter national air standards based on successful existing state and local measures, in an effort to reduce ozone and particulate pollution.

Members of the Ozone Transport Commission issued a statement Thursday calling on the EPA to implement additional national regulations to curb ozone transport.

Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia are members of the group, in...
