FDA Warns Online Smoke Shops Over Flavor Ban

Law360, New York (November 9, 2009, 2:25 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has warned nearly two dozen Internet retailers of flavored cigarettes that they could see their merchandise impounded if they continue to market and sell the newly prohibited products in the United States.

The warning letters, published on the FDA Web site last week, direct the companies to bring their product offerings into compliance with the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, which was signed by President Barack Obama in June, threatening additional regulatory actions such as seizure or injunction...
