Title Insurers Win Partial Dismissal Of Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (November 9, 2009, 4:39 PM EST) -- A federal judge has granted partial dismissal to a group of California title insurers led by Fidelity National Title Insurance Co. in an antitrust class action alleging they conspired to fix the prices of title insurance.

The judge granted the defendants' motion to chop the plaintiffs' Sherman Act and Cartwright Act claims from the lawsuit and dismissed their Section 17200 claim against defendants Ticor Title Insurance Co., Security Union Title Insurance Co., National Title Insurance of New York Inc., United General Title Insurance Co. and Lawyers...
