SEC Nabs Cleary Gottlieb Partner For Director

Law360, New York (November 11, 2009, 3:37 PM ET) -- Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP partner Robert Cook will join the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as director of the Division of Trading and Markets.

As director, Cook will be responsible for regulating all major participants in the securities markets, including broker-dealers, transfer agents, and self-regulatory agencies such as stock exchanges, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and clearing agencies.
