Claims Pared In LG Infringement Suit V. Whirlpool

Law360, New York (November 11, 2009, 2:57 PM EST) -- A federal judge has cut two claims from a suit by appliance manufacturer LG Electronics USA Inc. accusing competitor Whirlpool Corp. of infringing several patents related to refrigerator features.

Judge Gregory M. Sleet of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware dismissed counts 9 and 10 of the 10-count complaint in a concise, three-page order Monday, calling the claims “not well pleaded” and nothing more than “inadequate formulaic recitations” of the law.
