Saint-Gobain Wins $10.9M In Windshield Patent Case

Law360, New York (November 11, 2009, 6:40 PM ET) -- A federal jury has handed Saint-Gobain Autover USA Inc. an award of $10.9 million in compensatory damages after finding that Chinese windshield company Xinyi Automobile Glass Co. Ltd. violated the glass manufacturing giant’s patents covering windshield technology.

Nine jurors returned a unanimous verdict in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on Tuesday that Xinyi induced infringement of or contributorily infringed Saint-Gobain’s two patents and that the infringement was willful.
