Enviro Groups Sue To Stop Large Calif. Development

Law360, New York (November 16, 2009, 6:56 PM EST) -- The Center for Biological Diversity and three other groups have filed a suit seeking to block a 3,500-home development in the mountains outside Bakersfield, Calif., which environmental advocates claim will threaten the area's air and water, as well as the endangered California condor.

The suit, filed Thursday in the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the County of Kern, alleges violations of environmental law by Kern County officials who approved the project, Tejon Mountain Village.
