Companies Settle Patent Suit Over Vascular Product

Law360, New York (November 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A subsidiary of United Therapeutics Corp. has settled a lawsuit brought against Herbalife International Inc. for its alleged infringement of United’s patents for amino acid vascular enhancement products.

The dispute, which began in August 2003, ended with Herbalife entering into a royalty-bearing, nonexclusive license for United Therapeutics’ patents, the company said Monday. The exact terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
