Apex Fights $13M Award To I-Flow Over Pump Patent

Law360, New York (November 19, 2009, 2:05 PM ET) -- A post-trial battle over damages has erupted between I-Flow Corp. and Apex Medical Technologies Inc., following a federal jury's finding that Apex and one of its principals should pay about $13 million for infringing an I-Flow patent for a medical infusion pump.

In motions filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, Apex sought to either reverse or limit the damages award after I-Flow accused Apex of patent infringement, breach of confidence, unfair competition and stealing trade secrets.
