Reconsideration Bid Fails In Laser Game Patent Case

Law360, New York (November 19, 2009, 1:13 PM ET) -- A judge has refused to reconsider his summary judgment ruling that a chess-like board game involving laser beams made by MGA Entertainment Inc. and sold at Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Toys R Us Inc. infringes a patent held by Innovention Toys LLC.

Judge Martin Feldman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Tuesday denied a motion for reconsideration filed by MGA and the retailers, finding that they failed to present any new evidence that the summary judgment ruling was wrongly decided....
