State Claims Reinstated In Buffalo Hospital Suits

Law360, New York (November 20, 2009, 3:09 PM EST) -- A federal judge has reinstated allegations that Buffalo, N.Y.'s two major hospital systems violated state labor law by failing to pay employees for work they performed before and after their shifts.

Judge William M. Skretny of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York partially granted motions for reconsideration Thursday from plaintiffs suing Kaleida Health and Catholic Health System Inc. under the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York's Labor Law.
