1st Circ. Crushes Objection To $24M Zoladex Deal

Law360, New York (November 20, 2009, 6:41 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court panel has upheld a $24 million settlement in a class action that accused AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP of artificially inflating prices for the prostate cancer drug Zoladex.

One unhappy named plaintiff, M. Joyce Howe, had challenged the settlement in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, saying all recovery should be distributed to class members rather than having some go into a cy pres fund for charity.
