Dusa Sues Chemical Co. Over Skin Treatment Patents

Law360, New York (November 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Dusa Pharmaceuticals Inc. has targeted a Logan, Utah-based chemical manufacturer in a patent infringement suit over its brand-name skin treatment Levulan.

Dusa filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah on Monday, alleging that Frontier Scientific Inc. engaged in questionable practices to infringe two of its patents covering aminolevulinic acid (ALA), known as Levulan, which acts as a remedy for pre-cancerous actinic keratosis, acne and other dermatological conditions.
