Sprint Cleared For $831M Acquisition Of IPCS

Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 3:50 PM EST) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. has received all necessary regulatory approvals to complete its previously announced $831 million acquisition of affiliate iPCS Inc.

The Federal Communications Commission cleared the way for the acquisition on Tuesday, approving the transfer of a spectrum license owned by an iPCS subsidiary.

On Nov. 23, the Public Service Commission of West Virginia approved the acquisition, the only state public service commission required to do so. The Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period on the deal expired on Nov. 10.
