2nd Circ. Gives Ex-Lawmaker No Relief In Fraud Case

Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 6:21 PM EST) -- A circuit panel has affirmed a jury verdict finding a former majority leader of the Connecticut State Senate and his consulting firm guilty of fraudulently receiving part of a $75 million state pension fund investment.

There was substantial evidence to support the jury verdict and the court did not abuse its discretion in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement action against William DiBella and North Cove Ventures LLC, a three-judge panel ruled in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Wednesday....
