NJ Law To Govern Punitives In Zometa, Aredia Cases

Law360, New York (November 30, 2009, 5:12 PM EST) -- A New Jersey judge has ruled that state law governing punitive damages should apply in two cases on their way to trial over Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp.’s bone cancer drugs Aredia and Zometa.

New Jersey Superior Court Judge Jessica R. Mayer ruled Nov. 23 that the state's punitive damages law should apply if such damages are awarded in a product liability mass tort suit over the cancer drugs.
