Subway President Hit With $5B Suit Over Land Deal

Law360, New York (December 3, 2009, 5:54 PM EST) -- Fred DeLuca, president of the Subway fast food chain, has been hit with a $5 billion lawsuit by his partner in a joint venture to acquire and develop 41,000 acres of land in Florida for allegedly trying to take control of the venture and profit from it unfairly through a series of deceptions.

Florida developer Anthony Pugliese filed a complaint against DeLuca in the Palm Beach County Civil Court on Thursday, accusing him of hijacking the project's financing and withholding key information about the project....
