Distributor Settles OT Class Action For $3.6M

Law360, New York (December 04, 2009, 1:49 PM ET) -- Anderson Merchandisers LP, a company that distributes books, CDs and DVDs to Wal-Mart Stores Inc., has agreed to pay $3.6 million to settle a class action overtime suit filed by its sales representatives.

The plaintiffs filed a motion Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California seeking preliminary approval of the deal, which they said would result in an average recovery of $5,071 for each of the 487 members in two certified classes.
