Justices Grill Both Sides In Class Arbitration Case

Law360, New York (December 09, 2009, 6:00 PM ET) -- Both sides were peppered with difficult questions at Wednesday's oral arguments in Stolt-Nielsen SA v. Animalfeeds International Corp., an antitrust case closely watched by employment lawyers that raises the question of whether class arbitration can be imposed on parties whose agreement doesn't specify whether class arbitration is allowed.

The questioning didn't shed any light on how the nation's highest court might rule in the case, said Mayer Brown LLP partner Archis Parasharami, who attended the oral arguments.
