Microsoft, Amazon, Nokia Hit With Java Patent Suit

Law360, New York (December 8, 2009, 1:29 PM EST) -- Nazomi Communications Inc., which was founded by a trio of Java programmers, has filed suit against a host of companies including Nokia Corp., Microsoft Corp. and Amazon.com Inc. for infringing patents with their portable media devices.

The company filed suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing the technology giants of infringing its patents on Java technology.

Santa Clara, Calif.-based Nazomi is also going after Western Digital Corp., Garmin Ltd., Sling Media Inc., Vizio Inc. and Iomega Corp.
