Mylan, Wyeth Reach Accord On Effexor XR

Law360, New York (December 8, 2009, 7:20 PM EST) -- Mylan Inc. said Tuesday that it had struck a deal that will allow it to launch a generic version of Pfizer Inc. unit Wyeth's lucrative antidepressant Effexor XR in the U.S. by June 2011.

Mylan took a nonexclusive license to certain patents that will allow the generic drugmaker to bring Venlafaxine hydrochloride extended release capsules to market on or after June 1, 2011, "or earlier in limited circumstances," according to Mylan.
