Broadcom Co-Founder Cleared In Backdating Probe

Law360, New York (December 10, 2009, 6:10 PM EST) -- A little more than a year after rejecting as too lenient the plea deal of Broadcom Corp. co-founder Henry Samueli — who admitted to lying to regulators during their probe of stock options backdating at the company — a federal judge has dismissed his guilty plea, freeing Samueli from a felony false statement charge that could have netted him a $12 million fine or up to five years in prison.
