House Passes Iran Gas Sanctions Bill By Wide Margin

Law360, New York (December 15, 2009, 5:40 PM EST) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed by 412-12 a bill that would ban companies that provide Iran with assistance in refining petroleum into gasoline and other products from accessing U.S. markets.

The Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act of 2009 (H.R. 2194) passed with four members abstaining. The bill had been expected to pass by those wide margins.
