Saint-Gobain Ordered To Pay $50M In Patent Spat

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 2:12 PM ET) -- More than a year after a jury handed down its verdict in a patent dispute over medical-imaging scanner technology, a judge has entered a final judgment requiring a Saint-Gobain SA subsidiary to pay a Siemens AG unit $50.5 million for infringing a single Siemens patent.

Judge Sue L. Robinson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Wednesday entered the final judgment, which includes $44.9 million in damages and $5.5 million in prejudgment interest, and rejected Saint-Gobain's request to have the damages reduced...
