The Medicines Co. Issues Blood Pressure Drug Recall

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 1:02 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration noted Thursday that The Medicines Co. is voluntarily recalling 11 lots of an injectable blood pressure treatment, warning doctors that vials are potentially contaminated with small stainless steel particles.

The Medicines Co. said in a recall notice Thursday it has not received any product complaints or reports of adverse effects related to the presence of particles in vials of Cleviprex. The drugmaker said it was cooperating with the FDA on the recall.
